Krista van der Wilk
Krista van der Wilk creates video installations using projections, film, and photographic material.
Natural movements and elements form the starting point. Collecting data and imagery from nature and other seemingly organic materials. The data is digitally transformed into fictional atmospheric experiences. Sometimes heavily edited and sometimes staying true to the origin of the material.
By combining realistic and digitally manipulated elements, the work plays with the visual expectations and is stretching this as far as possible. There is always the presence of nonfictional details, which intertwines with reality. Making its way into the viewer's physical surroundings and mindset.
The work can be experienced as slow paced moving paintings, verging on the abstract.
