For his artistic practice, Robert Glas investigates the technologies deployed by nation-states to enforce laws and regulations. This process results in short films, photography and installations.
Background
Robert Glas (1986) is an artist and photographer based in Rotterdam. He graduated from the St. Joost School of Art & Design (AKV) with an MA in Photography, and from the HKU, Utrecht, with a BA in Photography. His works have been exhibited at the Van Abbe Museum, Eindhoven, Kunsthal, Rotterdam, V2, Rotterdam, Buitenplaats Doornburgh,Maarssen and Foam, Amsterdam. In 2019 he received the Charlotte Köhler Prijs and the Artist-in-Residence Fellowship of the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study (NIAS-KNAW). He is a current artist in residence at the Rijksakademie, Amsterdam.
