Curatorial Advisory Committee
Every year the artists exhibiting at Unfair are selected by the Curatorial Advisory Committee. For Unfair22 the committee consisted of Jeanette Bisschops, Yousef Gnaoui, Aude Christel Mgba, Thomas van Huut and the partners of Unfair.

Jeanette Bisschops is a curator, art critic and writer. As a curator, she works within the field of contemporary art. She is interested in underrepresented histories and critical analysis of known stories within today’s art world. Next to her practice as a freelance curator she worked for exhibitions at the New Museum in New York and the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.

Yousef Gnaoui, also known as Sef, is a Dutch pop artist and rapper. He worked together with The Opposites, The Partysquad, Dio and was a member of the rap formation Flinke Namen, which he founded together with The Flexican. In the past few years, Sef can also be heard on various podcasts, including Zin in Kunst, in which he and Steven van Lummel take a closer look at the Kunstmuseum Den Haag.

Aude Christel Mgba is a curator and art historian based in The Netherlands and Cameroon. Her practice revolves around thinking of alternative ways of producing and sharing knowledge. As a curator, she participated in the curatorial program of De Appel in 2018/2019. She also is a co-curator of sonsbeek20-24, an international contemporary art exhibition based in Arnhem.

Thomas van Huut is an independent art journalist. He writes and thinks about visual art and has published his findings in newspapers and art journals such as NRC Handelsblad, Metropolis M, De Groene Amsterdammer and Mister Motley. In 2018, he won the prize for best essay in the Prize of Young Art Critics, an initiative of modern and contemporary art museums in The Netherlands to stimulate a new generation of art critics.

UNFAIR – Peter van der Es, Bas Koopmans and Adam Nillissen are partners at Unfair. From their practice as visual artists and designers they have committed themselves as engaged mediators with a focus on talent development and network-building for upcoming artists. Between the three of them, they have curated and produced over 30 inter(national) events and exhibitions with over 200 artists.
