Welcome to Dear books, Amsterdam’s newest art book fair where printed matter, artistic practice, and community come together.
As part of UNFAIR26, this first edition of Dear books, brings together the work of 60 publishers and independent art book makers from around the world, selected through an open call. Here you’ll find artist publications, editions, zines, experiments, printed conversations, unlikely archives, quiet obsessions and ideas that simply insisted on becoming print.
Every book can be a small universe, a conversation between artist and reader. Publishing remains one of the few places where creating happens entirely on your own terms. Books ask us to slow down. To pay attention. They create space outside the algorithm, where every page exists because someone chose it for you.
Browse. Collect. Read. Don’t read.

An important note about accessibility
Dear books, is located on a balcony, accessible via 20 steps. Unfortunately, due to delays in the renovation of Gashouder, the elevator on location is currently not operational. We are very sorry that this means Dear books, is currently not wheelchair accessible.
For those unable to access Dear books, via the stairs, a selection of books from participating publishers will be available to browse downstairs. If you’d like to see more from a particular publisher, one of our team members will be happy to assist you.
Unfair and Dear books, would like to apologize and stress that we will do everything we can to make the best of this unexpected development.
