CONTENT MARKETER

 

“Artist first” has been part of Unfair’s DNA since our founding in 2012. Since then, we have collaborated with more than 650 artists across over 70 events and programmes. Through our projects, we contribute to a more accessible and equitable art ecosystem in which artists take centre stage and visitors can discover contemporary art directly from its makers.

In the lead-up to UNFAIR26, our largest event to date, taking place this year in Amsterdam’s Gashouder, we are looking for a hands-on Content Marketer to strengthen our online visibility and audience communications.

UNFAIR26 takes place from 17–20 September 2026 and brings together artists, partners, professionals and visitors in a large-scale artist-first event at the intersection of exhibition and art fair, complemented by an extensive public programme.

Job Description
As a Content Marketer, you will be responsible for the visibility and online communication of Unfair, with a strong focus on UNFAIR26. Working within a small team, you will collaborate closely with management, programme staff and external partners on the development, planning and execution of content campaigns.

This is a hands-on and creative role. You will create and schedule content, ensuring that our social media channels, newsletters and website remain engaging, consistent and effective. You will also support relationships with media and communication partners and identify opportunities to reach new audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan and publish content for social media, newsletters and the website
  • Write and edit texts in both Dutch and English
  • Coordinate content related to artists, partners and programme components of UNFAIR26
  • Create and manage content calendars
  • Maintain relationships with press and media partners
  • Identify opportunities for increased online visibility, audience growth and engagement
  • Contribute ideas for campaigns, tone of voice and audience development
  • Support basic activities related to Meta Ads, newsletters and website management

Profile
We are looking for someone who works independently, can adapt quickly and enjoys creating strong content within a cultural context.

You have:

  • An affinity with contemporary art and culture
  • Experience with social media, content planning and online communications
  • Strong writing skills in Dutch and English
  • A good eye for visual communication, storytelling and audience engagement
  • A structured and proactive approach to work
  • Experience with tools such as WordPress, Mailchimp, Meta Business Suite or Adobe software is an advantage

The position is available either as an employment contract or on a freelance basis, depending on experience and preference. Compensation will be determined in consultation and in accordance with the “Richtlijn Functie- en Loongebouw” from De Zaak Nu.
