Denzel Veerkamp
Denzel Veerkamp is a socially engaged designer who reinterprets Dutch‑Surinamese identity and history through upcycled, gender‑neutral fashion. Drawing on his bicultural heritage, he mixes patchwork, traditional Surinamese koto references, and bold volumes to challenge Eurocentric narratives. His debut collection “Abrasei” wove performance, archival research, and spiritual cleansing with for instance Florida water, into upcycled materials. He lives and works in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
