Pien Kars
Pien Kars works with moving images, both in 2D and 3D, and primarily focusing on stop-motion animation. Her works frequently explore themes of sexuality, femininity, and the human body. Tactility serves as a vital element in her artistic process, evident in her animation work as well as other techniques like painting, tufting, and crafting paper maché sculptures. Her animations and still images can be recognised by their vibrant colors, evoking playfulness and humor. It is in the magic of handcrafting, where little mistakes and imperfections become happy surprises, that Kars' works can take shape.
