Iris van der Zee
Iris van der Zee is interested in the way in which cultural objects are part of the human experience in the past, present, and future - and how these encounters change over time. The artist is particularly fascinated by the feeling of alienation that people can experience from the physical world, stemming from the endless streams of image reproductions; this feeling results in a discrepancy between the physical world and the world of images. Mixing the tangible with the virtual, Iris’s practice consists of an interplay between sculpture and photography.
