Forever gifts is a series in which Bart Eysink Smeets makes presents out of painted metal sheets. You can’t open them, they will stay wrapped forever. This way the promise of a present will never be turned into the disappointment of the content. The excitement is frozen in time. Like Schrödinger’s cat thought experiment, it can be nothing and everything at the same time, as long as you don’t open it.
