Isa van Lier
Isa van Lier is a multidisciplinary artist who makes ceramic sculptures, paintings and room-filling installations. With her work she invites you into a world of universal shapes and colors, curious creatures and an all-embracing softness.
In temple-like spaces she welcomes the viewer to rest their minds and look at the world with the eyes of a child.
Inspired by Japanese culture and Shintoism, her works seem to come alive and let the experience of feeling, intuition and peace take over you. Combining a wide range of materials such as wood, ceramics, and different painting techniques, she creates a sensory play between 2D & 3D, making the ‘invisible or imaginary’ into the physical and material world.
A non-hierarchical world arises where every object has a soul and wishes you love. Allowing our inner worlds to be felt and tickling our curiosity, playfulness and imagination.
