Bart Lunenburg
Within his multidisciplinary art practice, Bart Lunenburg explores themes related to architecture and its history, urban design, and architectural heritage. The artist approaches buildings and cities as if they have a memory of their own. He ‘excavates’ the memory of buildings by researching archival materials, combining them with his own observations and translating
these into new works. Lunenburg mainly works with scale models, which in turn can lead to the creation of sculptures, photographs, drawings, and textiles, often coming together in installations and books.

Bart Lunenburg (1995) is a visual artist based working between Amsterdam and Utrecht. In 2017, he graduated from HKU with a BA in Photography. His work has been shown at Art Rotterdam, Buitenplaats Doornburgh, FOTODOK, Casco Art Institute: Working for the Commons in Utrecht, Kunsthal KAdE in Amersfoort, and many more. In 2021, Lunenburg was nominated for the Foam Paul Huf Award. His works are part of the collections at AMC Kunstcollectie and BPD Kunstcollectie among others.
