Faria van Creij-Callender
Faria van Creij-Callender invites you into her dream world of reverie, nostalgia, and love. She weaves her Surinamese/Dutch heritage with inspiration from her immediate surroundings, blending layers of past, present, and future versions of herself. Accompanied by rich symbolism, her paintings speak to her sense of a dual identity. With each portrait bearing traces of her own, Faria points to a shared experience of recognizing herself in other people. Almost like a mirror, her work reflects the shared humanity within our differences.
