Lucila Pacheco Dehne
Lucila Pacheco Dehne conceives of her practice as a spider’s web: the outer frame is anchored in real-political events, while the inner threads spiral toward fiction, myth, and the unconscious. Working across sculpture and installation, she translates complex narratives into immersive "spatial sentences" where individual works act as modular words. Her expansive material vocabulary, ranging from industrial silicones to ephemeral beeswax and seeds, explores the fragility and resilience of ecological and political environments.
Recently, her work has focused on the migration of plants from Abya Yala to Europe, examining colonial memory and the oppressive systems of the present. Amidst the rise of the far right in Europe, Dehne’s practice serves as a vital act of resistance, utilizing site-specific compositions and communal social practices to render the invisible visible.
