Zindzi Zwietering
Through photography, Zwietering investigates how invisible phenomena shape our daily lives. The artist renders the abstract clear and brings the hidden into focus. Her work looks at objects that usually go unnoticed – from buildings to jerry cans – as silent witnesses of climate change. This way, her work aims to give voice to nature, and tries to look at ‘dead’ objects as subjects from which we can learn and at which we can marvel. In this geologically changing world, she attaches value to proximity and interpretation. Zwietering’s practice is mainly rooted in photography, but the artist also works with drawings, silkscreens, and more recently ceramics.
